Tiger Qigong Set from the "Five Animal Exercises Qigong" Workshop:

The "Five Animal Exercises Qigong Set" is one of the oldest known Qigong forms in China. Each of the five animals has an internal organ pair associated with it and a season in which it is best to practice. This set is used all around the world for health improvement and maintenance.

The Tiger set in meant to be practiced during the spring months and was designed to balance the liver and the spleen. Two organs that are very important in maintaining good health. The movements of the Tiger set are also excellent for stretching and strengthening the back, hips and legs.

To ensure that all those who attend get the most out of this workshop, each participant will receive a booklet with detailed instructions and pictures of each movement to help remind them of each movement and the correct way to do it after the workshop is over.

10 Day Weight Loss:

Starts June 17th.

10 Days of Weight Loss:

This summer Shifu Plitt will be hosting a "10 Days of Weight Loss" challenge to help equip people with a structured weight loss program and tools with which they can achieve their weight loss goals. 

The focus of this 10 day program will be to reach a healthy weight through better nutrition and an active lifestyle. The exercise level of this class will be fairly mild and the exercises very simple. This is to encourage participants to continue these exercises even after the program is completed.  Our group will be meeting every day for all 10 days to exercise and encourage one another.  

It will be $110 for the 10 day program and to participate you must be signed up by May 17. 

Now all you have to do is ask yourself, "Is my body worth $11 a day?"

CPR Class changed to May 4th

First Belt Test of the Year

The First Belt Test of the year.  Six students took the test for each of their belt levels.  Mason Altman and Travis Wright were promoted to Yellow Belts.

  Jacob Huffman, Connor Johnson and Etienne Pieterse were promoted to Blue Belts and Clarence Newman was promoted to Purple Belt.

A Video From Last Saturday's Qigong Workshop

Last Saturday (Jan. 5, 2013) the KSW Karate Dojo hosted a Qigong Workshop.  The workshop was led by the Tai Chi instructor at the Dojo, Shifu Andrew Plitt, and focused on Qigong Exercises that are part of one of the oldest known forms of Qigong in China, the Wu Qin Xi.  This part of the Wu Qin Xi Qigong set was created to help strengthen the kidneys and other internal organs.
