Last night was the last class for Sensei Peoples and Brown Belt Adam Avitia before they head to Ireland for the 20th Irish Cup.

GSKA Tournament


Going into this weekends tournament!

Rodney Peoples is in Third Place in Points for 50 & up Black Belt Point Sparring.  He is also in Second Place for 50 & up Black Belt Traditional Forms (Kata) All Sytles.

Jason Dokie is in Third Place in Points for 15-39 Black Belt Japanese/Okinawan Forms (Kata).  He is also in Third Place in Points for 36-49 Black Belt Mens Sparring 175 & Under.

Skyler Boone is in a Tied for First Place in 10-13 Beg/Inter Boys Continuous Sparring.  Skyler is also in First Place in 11-13 Inter/advance Japanese/Okinawan Forms (Kata).  He is also in First Place in 12-13 Inter Boys Point Sparring.

Serene Pierson is in Second Place in Points in 18-39 Brown Belt and Below Traditional Forms.  She is also in Third Place in 18& Up Brown & Below Women's Point Sparring.  She is also in First Place in 18 & Up Brown and Below Women's Padded Weapons Sparring.

Jason Dokie win Grands at GSKA tournament

 

 

















Jason Dokie won both Grands at the GSKAGold Country Battle of Champions held at Amador High School.
Skyler Boone told two 1st places.  CS 40 10-13 Beg/Inter Continuous Sparring.  Skyler is in First Place in points.  Skyler alson won in F74 11/13 Inter/Adv.  Japanese/ Okinawan Forms Skyler is also Second in pionts in this division.
Brain Tenneson Also took two 1st. Places.  18&UP mens Adv. Sparring no Black Belt.  Brain is Second in points in the division.  Brain took 1st. in F77 18/39 Brown Belt and below and is how in second place in this division.
Micah Puryear took 1st. Place in 7 & under Forms.  He is now in second place in this division.
Connor Johnson took 1st. Place in the 8-10 Boys Point Sparring, He is tied for first place in this division. He also had a 1st. Place in F-72 8/10 Inter/Adv Japanese / Okinawan Forms and Connor is second in points in this division

Irish Cup!

Sensei Rodney C. Peoples just returned from the 17th Irish Cup in Dublin Ireland.  He indicated it was an amazing trip that started in Athens, Greece.  A former team member under Don Madden, Katherine Loukopoulos lives in Greece and showed the team many sites in Greece including the ruins in Deiphi, some of the islands, and in Athens the Agoura and the Acropolis.  There was an amazing view of the Acropolis from the rooftop of the hotel where the team stayed.
There were a total of 32 people traveling with the AKJU Team America.  There were 17 competitors with the team and took home 52 medals; 25 gold, 18 silver, and 15 bronze including the Irish Cup in Ju Jitsu.  The remaining travelers were family members and friends of the team competitors.  All indicated they had a wonderful time.
Sensei Peoples won a gold metal in sparring, open hand forms, and weapons forms.  He also won a bronze medal for team fighting.
The American woman’s team fighting won silver medal only losing to one of the Irish teams by 1 point.  The American men’s team fighting took the bronze in their division.
Being a part of the AKJU team America is open to many styles of matial arts including Karate, Ju Jistu, and Kung Fu.  If you are interested in joining the AKJU and travel with the team to the 18th Irish Cup nest year please contact the Ko Sutemi West at (209)-296-4200 or email realrcp@aol.com to be informed of upcoming qualifying events.
